Review: Shea Terra Organics Rose Hips Replenish Face Creme

First of all, Shea Terra Organics is USA based brand that is committed to provide natural, safe and organics skin care using African natural ingredient whilst at the same time carried mission to help boost local African economy for many hardworking famillies across the continent.

I've been aiming to get STO product for a very long time, however, since I need to pay for international shipping cost that is almost the same as the product price, I let it go. I was so happy when STO finally arrived in Malaysia and quickly grab their Rose Hips Replenish Face Creme. You can see more product in their website at the end of this review.

So back to the review, at first glance, the cream is packaged in ember glass jar and that's already said something in Shea Terra Organics commitment to ensure that the product stays fresh without oxidation

They are so dedicated to their course that even the label is eco-freindly as they were made using compostable plant material.

Ingredient List: Morrocon Rose Water NPO certified organic, BCS Oko certified organic rose hips fruit oil, vegetable emulsifying wax, shea nilotica, seabuckthorn oil, naturally derived preservatives glucono-delta-lactone and sodium benzoate.

The cream was formulated with 99.7% natural ingredients and uses naturally derived preservative glucono-delta-lactone and sodium benzoate to keep the product fresh for a long time. Its main ingredient are pure Morroccon rose water and rose hips oil was formulated together as anti-aging agents for mature, dry skin and is said to deeply moisturize and working at cellular level to repair cells and replaced vital lipids necessary for youthful looking skin.

General information:

Scent : Strongly rose hips scent with a little hint of rose water at backround. Silly me to expect it to smell lovely roses. The scent might bit too strong at first, kinda like something fermented, however as you get used to it, you'll forgot that its even there.
Texture : Creamy, lotiony and very loose cream. It feels like touching an airy whipped cream the first time I touched it. Since os have high water content it was easy to spread on dry skin. However, preparing your face with toner/essense/serum first is recommended.
Appearance : Slightly off white cream.
Size : 59 ml. The packaging is smaller than I expected, but 59 ml is actually a lot and since you'll only need the cream in small quantity, I recon it'll last for months.
Application : Leaves slight sticky residue but not greasy. It need a longer time to absorb fully, however when it did, the stickeness dissappear and your face will fell very moisturized. A little goes a long way.

Because of its highly moisturizing ability, you can use both at day and night time. I recommend to use a pea size quantity for day time and generous amount for night time. (^,^). After using it for a few weeks, my face somehow felt plump and moisturized, if that is the right way to describe it, especially after night time used. Its a bit pricey but that's is expected for an organic product and all in all, I say it's worth it.

Review: Sukin Cream Cleanser

Image from www.sukinorganics.com
Before we go into deeper on the product review, lets take a look at the brand from which the product hailed from. Sukin Organics is Australia borned skin and hair care line with its tagline;

"Skincare that doesn't cost the earth"

Founded in 2007, Sukin continue untill today, to maintain a strong principle on the environment and sustainability and have been certified as 100% carbon neutral, cruelty free, and vegan with all formulations being biodegradable and grey water safe. They dedicated themselves to provide customers with the best natural skincare on the market (www.sukinorganics.com).
__________________________________________________________________________

Because of that, Sukin skincare has been in my radar for a very long time. So recently, I picked this one out of curiosity. I never used a cream cleanser before. All my cleanser are foamy kind cleanser, which are my favorite but some are drying on skin.

Its formulations are without chemical and synthetic ingredient as shown in the picture. And I really love that its 100% vegan, no animal ingredient, no cruelty, sulfates and paraben-free.

Ingredient list: Water, Aloe barbadensis leaf juice, sesame seed oil, gycerin, cetearyl alcohol, ceteareth-20, rose hip oil, cocoa seed butter, shea butter, jojoba seed oil, avocado oil, wheat germ oil, vitamin E, horsetail extract, burdock extract, nettle leaf extract, tangerine peel oil, mandarin orange peel oil, lavender oil, vanillin, vanilla extract, phenoxyethanol, benzyl alcohol, limonene, linalool.

This cleanser is pack with skin beneficial carrier oil like jojoba oil, rose hip oil (anti-aging) shea butter (moisturizing) and luxurious essential oils.

The texture is as its name imply is creamy, moisturizer-like and definitely not a soap cleanser, much like a cleansing oil. At first, I thought I've made a mistake in taking the moisturizer instead. The cleanser carries a lovely citrusy, lavender scent. Not too overpowering while very calming instead.

It done a really good job in clearing my makeup, however you do need a generous amount to clean the whole face and I recommend using facial cotton to get its makeup clearing properties to full potential. The cleanser, is surprisingly water soluble and does not produced a milky emulsion on contact with water like cleansing oil did. After cleansing, your face will feel soft and supple without tight feeling and you don't need to double cleanse with gel/foam cleanser, because it does not leaved oily residue. However, I know some people won't feel clean until they double cleanse, which is totally a personal preferences.

Personally, I felt that, double cleansing with foam or gel cleanser somehow strip the level of moisture the Sukin's Cream Cleanser provided previously and as such I leave out second cleansing. I didn't get any breakouts in the duration of using the cleanser. I also somehow think (at the back of my mind), it'll be great moisturizer for dry skin if you used in pea size quantity, or forgets it. Don't do that. :-p

In a nutshell,

Sukin Cream Cleanser, can be a good alternative to cleansing oil. The cleanser done a great job as makeup remover, and leaved your face feeling refreshed and moisturize. However, some people might feel that it is not cleansing enough and are happy with double cleansing with foaming cleansing, go for it.  You can buy this product at any Watson Malaysia store or online @ koyara.com
